Home Run Derby Qualifications

http://mathworld.wolfram.com/images/eps-gif/HomePlate_800.gifFor any shape that has five sides, there has to be a total of 540 degrees (triangle is 180, square is 360).

There are two 90 degree angles at the base of the plate and one 90 degree angle on the top of the plate.  The three 90 degree angles =270 degrees.  If we subtract 270 degrees from the 540 degrees, we are left with 270 degrees for the other two angles on the plate.   Both those angles are the same value,  so  divide 270 degrees by two.  This leaves you  135 degrees for each of those two sides.

Create a plate with the exact measuements as above and create a plate that is half the measurements from above.  The angle measurements will remain the same for both plates.  Once you have both plates similar, you are in the derby!
