Ch.5 The author used flashback to share how Papi died. The part that stood out to me was when Papi said to Mrs Cora, “Keep my boys together.”
Ch.6 The mysterious girl returns. During this chapter we find out she has a cannon for an arm after she fired a ball to Michael on the fly.
Ch.7 We learn the mysterious girl is Ellie Garcia. Michael and her spend some time chit chatting. At the end of the chapter, Michael and Ellie notice that Manny is talking to an Officials Person.
Ch.8 We learn about the Official Persons. Officer Mark Crandall , Mr.Lima and Mr. Amorosa continue talking to Manny about Michael.
Ch. 9 Mostly sets the expense for chapter 10. The Clippers travel to West Chester to face the bratty Justin’s team again. Mike Lupica ends the chapter with “This should certainly be a festive occasion.” Little did they know.
Ch.10 The game gets ugly in this chapter. Justin beaned Michael in the head. The chapters ends with Michael pitching to Justin. Everyone thinks Michael is going to bean Justin back, BUT instead he drops the only curveball he will throw all year over the plate that causes Justin to collapse from the fear of being hit. After striking Justin out, Justin starts to question Michael’s age again. Then, he says something mean about coming over on the boat.
