We used our class read aloud, Among the Hidden, to demonstrate what is expected.
The children took the event they are describing for their Personal Narrative and created a timeline. See my example.
The event I am describing: Catching the ball from a Cardinals player for Mary.

Students made as many different rectangles as time allowed using the colorful square tiles. The dimensions of the rectangle represent the factors of that number. See examples below.

Students will select three golfers from the list below. They will track their three golfers score’s for 4 rounds unless a golfer does NOT make the cut. When the Deutsche Bank Championship is complete, each student will figure out each of their golfer’s average and their team of three golfer’s average.

Lesson #1
The children drew a heart and began to break it into pieces of people, places, and things they love.
* Writer’s Notebook…The first three lessons should be finished.
In which sport does equipment cost the most? What would it cost to buy the equipment for all five sports? What is the average cost?
Choose three of the sports in the graph. If you have an allowance of $1.25 a day and do not spend any of it, how long would it take you to buy the equipment for those three sports?
Choose one sport. Make a list of the kinds of equipment you think are needed to play the sport. Use a catalog or make a trip to a store to find the actual cost of equipment and clothes for this sport. We will do this part in class tomorrow.
